BatteryCorp Joins Lucent Techologies’ Network Power Portfolio

April 06, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

BatteryCorp has joined Lucent Worldwide Services' network power portfolio to extend the range and reach of its Sensible and Sound Power Emergency Backup Power Audit program for mobile network operators.

The alliance extends BatteryCorp's channel program worldwide and provides a key introduction for BatteryCorp as an integral part of Lucent's Worldwide Services power solution portfolio. With BatteryCorp's Sensible and Sound Power Emergency Backup Power Audit program, carriers can cost-effectively and proactively manage their backup power resources in the same manner as other critical network resources.

"As a leading provider of comprehensive battery lifecycle management solutions, BatteryCorp is changing the way that carriers manage their emergency battery backup resources," said Steven Dworkin, CEO of BatteryCorp. "Our go-to-market partnership with Lucent Worldwide Services is clear evidence of our on-going commitment to help carriers worldwide better manage the backup power systems that have become critical to the quality delivery of their services."

"We are pleased to be working with BatteryCorp to help ensure the reliability and up-time of customers' wireline and wireless networks," said Jim Johnson, vice president of maintenance and deployment solutions, Lucent Worldwide Services.

An integral part of its service delivery, BatteryCorp's patented OMS™-BatteryTrak™ is a web-based service that automatically synchronizes test data gathered by trained technicians and produces distinct reports and analyses for use by network, regional and local management. Its budgeting, forecasting and battery power runtime analytics have become integral tools used by carriers to manage critical backup resources.

The BatteryCorp Sensible and Sound program also enables carriers to determine if the present site configuration can provide the level and duration of backup desired in emergency outage situations. After a detailed site inspection, if there is a need for increased capacity, BatteryCorp provides recommended solutions based on the overall site characteristics and power needs. BatteryCorp also goes beyond the batteries, inspecting all emergency power related equipment to ensure each component can work at its optimal level and remains free of damage or wear that could impede performance.
