AVX Announces Availability of SpiCAP 3.0

January 14, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

AVX Corp. (Myrtle Beach, SC) recently released SpiCAP version 3.0, an online engineering tool that generates the frequency response and characterizes AVX ceramic chip capacitors based on user inputs. Upgrades to the previous SpiCAP 2.8 have produced a user-friendly interface for electrical design engineers.

The Windows-based software provides parameters required for SPICE-based computer modeling and circuit simulations of MLCCs, including high capacitance X5R as well as low inductance varieties. SpiCAP 3.0 is compatible with Windows 95 or higher.

SpiCap 3.0 is suited for the design of output and input filters for switch-mode power supplies, bulk and local decoupling, and bypass capacitors, as well as wireless applications. SpiCap 3.0 is available for free download on the AVX website.
