November 02, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Sustainable Energy Technologies Ltd. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada), a developer of power electronics for renewable energy applications, announced that it has signed a two-year contract to supply RWE Fuel Cells GmbH (Essen, Germany) with power electronics solutions for combined heat and power fuel cell modules under development by RWE Fuel Cells and its partners in the up to 5 kW power class.

Under the supply contract, which may be renewed by the parties following the initial two year term, the company will supply RWE Fuel Cells with inverters for fuel cell heat and power systems developed by it and its partners on a formula basis that will optimize the value of Sustainable Energy’s universal” power electronics platform to the fuel cell power module. Sustainable Energy and RWE Fuel Cells have also agreed to collaborate closely to obtain the lowest possible cost for components and system integration to quickly reduce the critical power electronics part of the fuel cell system.
