Intersil Commits $200,000 to Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

Intersil Corp. (Milpitas, CA) has committed $200,000 to relief efforts for victims of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. The funds represent a combination of a $150,000 corporate gift and an Intersil dollar-for-dollar match of employee gifts up to $50,000. Intersil is partnering with the United Way and the American Red Cross in the effort. The $150,000 corporate gift will be given to the United Way in partnership with the American Red Cross.

"Our hearts go out to the victims of Hurricane Katrina," said Intersil President and CEO Rich Beyer. "Intersil is proud to make a positive impact on the thousands of people who have suffered so greatly as a result of this disaster, and is encouraging employee involvement in the relief effort as well."
