Baldor Announces New BE$T Software Program

July 02, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Baldor Electric Co. (Fort Smith, AR) announced its new BE$T software program that analyzes the benefits of installing new generations of energy-efficient electric motor products, calculates the annual electricity cost of the typical nominal efficiency motor, compares it to the consumption of equivalent motors manufactured to achieve high operating efficiencies, and recommends a replacement commercial motor for the application in question, showing the payback period in months.

The BE$T software accepts data entry in three ways: via keyboard, import of a project from Excel, or the import of data from a PDA such as a Palm Pilot. It has a built-in report writer for simple summary and detailed reports. The new BE$T software is suitable for industrial sectors, including

chemical/petrochemical plants, water and utilities, paper mills, mining,

steel/metal, and automotive.

The BE$T software is now available free of charge.
