The V.O magnetic power adapter, will be launching a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter starting October 20 to raise a total of $75K to offset production costs. Reforges, the design team behind the V.O adapter, is looking to completely transform the way electronics are plugged in with an easier, faster and safer power plug. With the V.O adapter, struggling to find the right alignment with plugs will be a thing of the past; Reforges tested more than 30 polymagnets to ensure that the V.O adapter could conduct electricity at any angle. These magnets are fine-tuned so that each adapter will connect any electronic device to any outlet, as well as disconnect from the wall without excessive force, eliminating the tripping hazard that comes along with power cords.
"With the number of electrical outlet injuries skyrocketing in the U.S., we sought out a way to help solve this problem," said the Reforges design team. "With the V.O, we created an innovative design that will make electronic devices and their cords yank safe, child proof and, of course, easily portable for those who are constantly on the go."
Parents have the ability to baby proof their outlets with V.O adapters, which will keep children from being able to stick their fingers or foreign objects into outlets. With its magnetic capabilities, it also makes it easy for those with hand disabilities or impairments, such as arthritis, to plug anything into an outlet. It's also ideal for those who are constantly on the go, as the V.O is extremely portable and won't interfere with credit cards or other electronic devices.
V.O adapters will be available for traditional two- and three-prong outlets and electronics, as well as a USB adapter. The earliest backers of the V.O crowdfunding campaign will be able to purchase the original V.O. adapter and outlet for $11, which is 42% off the suggested market retail price.
