Innovolt Announces Strategic Relationship with Katun Corp.

July 17, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

Innovolt Inc. has announced a strategic relationship with Katun Corp., an alternative suppliers to the office equipment industry. This relationship further extends Innovolt’s technology in the office equipment market as well as new geographic areas. Starting this month, Innovolt will be providing technology solutions through Katun in Latin America. Additionally, Innovolt has solidified its presence in Canada, working with Genuine Supply Source (GSS), a privately-owned wholesale distributor of imaging supplies and Katun’s exclusive distributor in Canada.

In an ever competitive market with margins constantly under pressure, office equipment dealers can’t afford down time and unnecessary service calls due to power disturbances. Leading distributors in the industry, including Katun and GSS, have collaborated with Innovolt to supply reliable products that provide increased protection from power grid disturbances. These alliances showcase Innovolt’s expertise within the office equipment market as well as accelerate its current product distribution.

"As the office equipment industry continues to evolve, Katun remains committed to providing our customers with the key products and services that make them more efficient and profitable. Down time, as everyone would agree, is not profitable. Since forming a relationship with Innovolt, our customers have experienced less equipment down time due to Innovolt’s power protection technology," explains Katun CEO and President, Carlyle Singer. "For complete protection, we recommend Innovolt’s products to all of our dealers and distributors based on the consistent value provided by this technology."

"Where our technology has been deployed, our customers have seen a marked decrease in service calls on protected equipment," states Walter Crowder, vice president of sales, Innovolt. "With constant competition within the office equipment industry, it’s becoming more important for manufacturers and distributors to set themselves apart by protecting their equipment, customer experience and brand reputation from the power grid. As known leaders in the industry, now is the right time for Katun and GSS to take this step."

Looking at the usage of power in the Americas, demand for electricity is forecasted to grow by 40 percent in the U.S. alone. In South America, demand for electricity is projected to double over the next few years, outstripping generation capacity and the aging infrastructure causing increasing power disturbances. Also, according to a study by the Canadian Electrical Association and the Conference Board of Canada called Canada’s Electricity Infrastructure: Building a Case for Investment, there is an immense amount of work needed to improve Canada’s source of power. The study suggests that a total investment of $293.8 billion is necessary between 2011 and 2030 to service old infrastructure and boost power generation from other sources.

"By implementing Innovolt’s technology, we can assure that our dealers in Canada are receiving superior equipment with quality protection that limits down time for users," states Dave MacMillan, managing director, Genuine Supply Source. "We are seeing great success with the relationship between Innovolt and Katun Corporation and anticipate that integrating Innovolt’s technology into our product line will result in similar success."
