Mastering Harmonics to Ensure Power System Efficiency and Standards Compliance

Gain a deeper understanding of the impact of harmonics, best practices for accurate harmonic measurement, key distinctions between DFT and FFT, and critical tradeoffs to consider when selecting test equipment.

In partnership with Yokogawa

Voltage and current harmonics in power systems can lead to serious challenges for both engineers and businesses. From an engineering standpoint, harmonics generate excessive heat in equipment, causing damage, reducing efficiency, and shortening operational lifespans. From a business perspective, meeting harmonic compliance standards is essential for entering and competing in global markets.

To address these challenges, power quality standards like IEEE 519-2014 and IEC 61000-3-2 define clear limits for harmonic distortion to ensure reliable and efficient operation.

In this webinar, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of:

• Harmonics and their impact
• Best practices for accurate harmonic measurement
• Key distinctions between discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and fast Fourier transform (FFT)
• Critical tradeoffs to consider when selecting test equipment
