Dr. Maik Hyrenbach graduated from Duisburg University in 1995 with a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering. He has worked at ABB since 1996, specializing in gas insulated medium voltage switchgear. In 2012, he became part of an international team of experts at ABB responsible for new sustainable technologies to replace the use of Fluorinated Gases in gas insulated switchgear. Moreover, he is an active member and partly also chapter lead in international organizations and working groups such as GIGRE, IEC, ZVEI, T&D Europe, DKE and EN. Dr. Hyrenbach currently holds the position of Corporate Executive Engineer at ABB for medium voltage gas insulated switchgear.
