I need help with my power supply. It's a Gw Instek PSP-405. When I activate the output with no load I get a reading of 3mA and 0.1 watt.

Where could this draw be coming from?

It just started doing this recently. The other day I got an error message and alarm from it but it only did this twice.

Any help would be appreciated as I can't afford a new one.

 

did you buy it new ?
has this always been that way or has it just started doing this ?
and this is with 0.000V being displayed ?

 

It's a couple of years old now but I never really needed it set to above 20 volts and that's when the draw starts showing. I assume it has always been like that.

 

What is the output voltage setting for the numbers in post #1? Math suggests 33 V.

 

I get .001A at 20V
.002A at 24V
and .003A at 33V
It stays at .003A from then on to 40V.

But why would It just started doing, this recently is what I'm struggling with understanding. This didn't always happen.
