Enpirion, announced the addition of what the company describes as two seasoned veterans with nearly 50 years of integrated circuit development and manufacturing experience between them. Doug Lopata joins the Enpirion team as Vice President of Design Engineering, with responsibilities including system architecture, IC architecture, and IC design. Dhammika Perera joins as Vice President of Product Development, and will be responsible for backend engineering (product, test, and package), quality and reliability and subcontractor management (foundry, assembly, and test).

"The ability to attract talented executives like Doug and Dhammika is a significant recognition of Enpirion’s growing stature in the semiconductor marketplace," said Mark Downing, Enpirion’s CEO. "With the strength of our management team and the track record of our products, Enpirion is well-positioned for continued success."

Doug Lopata brings to Enpirion more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of integrated circuit product development, including: definition, architecture, circuit design, product engineering, and test engineering. Before joining Enpirion, Lopata was the Chief IC Architect for Agere System’s Mobility Business Unit (now LSI Logic), where he was responsible for technical leadership in all aspects of cell-phone IC development. Prior to assuming the role of Chief IC Architect, he was a Consulting Member of Technical Staff leading the architecture and design of Agere’s cellular analog products and power management ICs. Lopata currently holds 12 patents, with an additional 20 patents pending, spanning the areas of circuit design, IC architecture, power system architecture, and systems design. He holds a BSEE from Drexel University and a MSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Dhammika Perera brings to Enpirion more than 20 years of senior management experience in all aspects of worldwide manufacturing operations and product development engineering for high-speed analog and mixed signal integrated circuits. Perera comes to Enpirion from Scintera, Inc., where he was the Vice President of Operations, responsible for all areas of domestic and international manufacturing operations. Prior to that position, he served as the Vice President of Product and Test Engineering at Sipex Corporation and was instrumental in developing the manufacturing and engineering infrastructure both internally and off-shore. Perera began his semiconductor career as a product engineer, and rapidly progressed into successive managerial roles at National Semiconductor and Analog Devices. He holds a BSEE from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
