John Nieman has worked as an academic researcher, an engineering editor for the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), and a content creator in the private sector. He also teaches at UCI in the English department, and his courses focus on research, genre awareness, rhetorical agility, and metacognitive strategies for learning. He enjoys working at the intersection of engineering and the humanities and remains fascinated by the large and small differences between these disciplines.
